The Dome was created in the year 2205, an underwater ark to preserve and curate the creatures of earth during its impending doom. Run by experienced scientists it became a beautiful Eden; seemingly untouched by humanity. Above water the world lived in utopia, animals little more than entertainment; kept in zoos and put on display for humanity to enjoy. Little remained of the open expanses that they used to traverse.

Yet a disease began to run rampage above water, killing off living creatures one by one. Leaving only the dome alive. Below the scientists panicked, knowing they would never be able to return to humanity; knowing they were trapped below the sea forever.

As time passed they grew bored with their existence, bored with monitoring the animals that they considered dull and unimaginative. With no ruling body to stop them they began to experiment. genetically splicing creatures together to create new and unique creatures. They even went as far as to experiment with their own genetics, creating new types of humans.

Aeons passed and the lines between human and animal became blurred. The dome became a new sort of world, with unique flora and fauna. Most creatures have awareness and intelligence, those that did not were left as they used to be.
